Broader Impacts

I view public outreach and the broad sharing of my work as vital, and I engage with diverse audiences in both English and Spanish to foster dialogue around my research. Where appropriate I employ participatory methods, and I organize and take part in education and outreach activities for the communities and resource-user groups with whom I work closely. Examples of the application of my expertise outside academia include serving as a volunteer advisor to the American Alpine Club and Peru’s Huascarán National Park on conservation and tourism management issues and providing conflict analysis to Peru’s Cruz de Mayo Campesino Community and the Peruvian National Water Authority.
